Below is Honey, one of my "deer head" chihuahua's! ( a rescue from Best Friends of Pets in Mission Hills, CA.)

DID YOU KNOW THAT DOGS AND CATS ARE COLOR BLIND?....Then why do you buy them toys made in China that have all kinds of toxic colors and chemicals that will impact your beloved pets' system?  Why buy them food that is artificially colored?  These colors are added so we will buy the product, and the pet companies will make a profit, and your dog or cat will get something that is not natural to them...cancer, tumors, death.  Did your know the canned pet food you buy are also lined with BPA?...Did you also know that many times when the pet food ingredients state "animal protein" or "crude protein" that it is ground up, rendered dogs/cats or sick cows that were "downed?"  Many cities make big profits by selling dogs and cats that they have been put to sleep at animal shelters, sending them to rendering plants....pretty sick...pretty sad...you bet!  Many of use focus on our well-being by buying organic, not giving toxic toys to our children or rubbing pesticides on their skin...flea repellent that we spend 30 or 40 dollars on....yet we do the opposite to these little creatures that so rely on us for their total well-being!  At YOURHEALTHISYOURWEALTH.NET we will show you a better way to love and take care of these little blessings that have been entrusted to us!

THIS VIDEO IS ON THE "ADDITIVES TO AVOID" PAGE...ALL ADDITIVES THAT ARE BAD FOR HUMANS ARE WORSE FOR YOU PET...THEY ARE SMALLER AND CANNOT GO DO A DETOX LIKE US.  FOOD DYES AND ARTIFICIAL COLORING ARE IN A LOT PET FOOD AS WELL AS THEIR MADE IN CHINA TOYS...PLEASE PLEASE WATCH THIS...IT CAN SAVE YOUR PETS' LIFE!!!

(NaturalNews) Thousands of family dogs across the USA have been sickened by pet jerky treats made in China, and nearly 600 dogs have died. The FDA has issued a warning over the deadly jerky treats but has not forced any sort of product recall.

So far, the cause of the fatalities remains a mystery. The FDA says it has tested jerky treats for heavy metals, pesticides, antibiotics, chemicals and even Salmonella but cannot find the cause. The agency is warning pet owners to watch their pets for symptoms of poisoning which may include "decreased appetite, decreased activity, vomiting, diarrhea (sometimes with blood or mucus), increased water consumption and / or increased urination."

Click here to view the FDA's fact sheet on contaminated jerky treats.

According to USA Today, the deadly jerky treats "come mostly from China," and the number of dogs sickened or killed by these treats has been rising all year.

The treats causing this epidemic of death, says USA Today, are "made of chicken, duck, sweet potatoes or dried fruit."

Beware of pet treats made in China

Most consumers do not fully realize that pet treats do NOT have to list their country of origin. Many pet treats are highly deceptive on their packaging, sometimes showing a logo of the continental USA and claiming to be "made with beef from the USA" even though the treats themselves are manufactured in China using toxic chemicals.

The FDA has not issued a recall on the brands it suspects are causing these deaths. This is one of the problems with the agency: it already knows which products are killing dogs, but it has so far failed to release that information to the public. As a result, as more and more people learn about this, all pet treat manufacturers will suffer because consumers will shun the entire product category.

In truth, there are perfectly healthy, safe and even nutritious pet treats made in the USA and other countries, yet due to a lack of labeling laws, it is virtually impossible for consumers to know which country the pet treats they buy are coming from.

This is why we need stronger labeling requirements that mandate the disclosure of things like country of origin, GMOs and even heavy metals contamination. Currently none of these things have to be listed on the label.

Even those of us who believe in smaller government recognize the important role of government in enforcing a "level playing field" through honest labeling. Only with this information can consumers make informed decisions about what they wish to buy (or avoid buying).

Until that happens, countless more dogs, cats and even our own children will die from contaminated food products. These are deaths that could have been avoided if we only had honest labeling laws in place that, for starters, clearly list the country of origin. While that regulation is in place for human foods, it does not exist for pet foods.

Beware of anything edible from China

Not everything from China is bad for you, but China has already won a reputation for producing the most contaminated, polluted and dangerous foods and nutritional supplements in the world. In the natural products industry, China has a strong reputation for producing "highly toxic" raw materials that often fail quality control tests.

The FDA is, at least, doing something good in this area by spot-checking imported raw materials for dietary supplements. We experienced that directly as the FDA, a few weeks ago, took samples from some superfoods we had just imported from South America. They ran heavy metals tests and contaminants tests on these materials and, after two weeks, gave our materials a clean bill of health.

Believe it or not, I actually support this kind of spot checking of raw materials. It is one of the rare useful things the FDA actually accomplishes, and it's a program with direct benefits to the health of the American population. In truth, we actually need more testing of foods, ingredients and other products being imported into the USA and sold as pet treats, superfoods, dietary supplements, and so on. Contamination of imported products with heavy metals, banned pesticides and other chemicals is shockingly widespread, and as I've witnessed firsthand in the industry, some retailers and marketers conduct no quality control testing whatsoever before selling products to the public.

I'll be writing more about this topic soon, but in the mean time, avoid all pet treats made in China. You may just save the life of your own dog or cat.

Homemade Flea Collar

  • Try a few drops of lavender oil, or cedar wood oil on a bandanna, or a piece of string. Tie it around your dog's neck. You can also use pure eucalyptus oil, tea tree oil, citronella or geranium. Be sure to refresh the collar every few days.  This is far better than the flea repellent  you can spend upwards of $40.00.  The non-natural flea repellents on the market are nothing more than pesticides, which pass through your dog or cats coat and into the bloodstream, hence when the flea bites (they are blood suckers) the pesticide in your pets' bloodstream kills the flea...but what harm does this pesticide in your pets' bloodstream do?  Would you rub pesticide on an infant?  Your children?  These expensive "flea remedies" sold by pet stores and the vet will profit them, and can eventually harm your pet.  SO LET'S GO ORGANIC...LET'S GO NATURAL!

EIGHT FOODS NEVER TO FEED YOUR PET

1. & 2. Garlic and Onions

Garlic and onions contain chemicals that damage red blood cells in cats and dogs. Affected red blood cells can rupture or lose their ability to carry oxygen effectively. Cooking these foods does not reduce their potential toxicity. Fresh, cooked, and/or powdered garlic and/or onions are commonly found in baby food, which is sometimes given to animals when they are sick, so be sure to read food labels carefully.

3. Chocolate

Chocolate contains theobromine, a chemical that is toxic to dogs in large enough quantities. Chocolate also contains caffeine, which is found in coffee, tea, and certain soft drinks. Different types of chocolate contain different amounts of theobromine and caffeine. For example, dark chocolate and baking chocolate contain more of these compounds than milk chocolate does, so a dog would need to eat more milk chocolate in order to become ill. However, even a few ounces of chocolate can be enough to cause illness in a small dog, so no amount or type of chocolate should be considered "safe" for a dog to eat. Chocolate toxicity can cause vomiting, diarrhea, rapid or irregular heart rate, restlessness, muscle tremors, and seizures. Death can occur within 24 hours of ingestion.

4. Xylitol

Xylitol is an artificial sweetener found in products such as gum, candy, mints, toothpaste, and mouthwash. Xylitol is harmful to dogs because it causes a sudden release of insulin in the body that leads to hypoglycemia (low blood sugar). Xylitol can also cause liver damage in dogs. Within 30 minutes after eating, the dog may vomit, be lethargic (tired), and/or be uncoordinated. However, some signs of toxicity can also be delayed for hours or even for a few days. Xylitol toxicity in dogs can be fatal if untreated. It is unknown whether xylitol is toxic to cats.

5. & 6. Grapes and Raisins
Grapes and raisins can cause acute (sudden) kidney failure in cats and dogs. It is unknown what the toxic agent is in these fruits. However, clinical signs can occur within 24 hours of eating and include vomiting, diarrhea, and lethargy (tiredness). Other signs of illness relate to the eventual shutdown of kidney functioning.

7. Avocados

The avocado tree leaves, pits, fruit, and plant bark are likely all toxic. Clinical signs in dogs and cats include vomiting and diarrhea.

8. Macadamia Nuts

Macadamia nuts are common in candies and chocolates. The mechanism of macadamia nut toxicity is not well understood, but clinical signs in dogs include depression, weakness, vomiting, tremors, joint pain, and pale gums. Clinical signs can occur within 12 hours after eating. In some cases, signs can resolve without treatment in 24 to 48 hours, but patient monitoring is strongly recommended.

BELOW  ARE SOME PICTURES OF MY BELOVED CAMILA, WHO PASSED  AWAY NOVEMBER 16, 2012

THIS WONDERFUL POEM IS FOR CAMILA, AND ALL OF YOU WHO HAVE LOST A BELOVED PET

JUST THIS SIDE OF HEAVEN LIES THE RAINBOW BRIDGE.

WHEN A BELOVED PET DIES, IT GOES TO THE RAINBOW BRIDGE.

IT MAKES FRIENDS WITH OTHER ANIMALS AND FROLICS OVER ROLLING HILLS

AND PEACEFULL MEADOWS OF GREEN.  THEY ARE AS HEALTHY AND PLAYFUL AS WE REMEMBER THEM IN DAYS GONE BY.

TOGETHER, THE ANIMALS CHASE AND PLAY, BUT THE DAY COMES WHEN A PET WILL SUDDENLY STOP AND LOOK IN THE DISTANCE...

BRIGHT EYES INTENT, EAGER BODY QUIVERING.  SUDDENLY RECOGNIZING YOU, YOUR PET BOUNDS QUICKLY ACROSS THE GREEN FIELDS

AND INTO YOUR EMBRACE.  YOU CELEBRATE IN JOYOUS REUNION.  YOU WILL NEVER AGAIN SEPARATE.

HAPPY TEARS AND KISSES ARE WARM AND PLENTIFUL, YOUR HANDS CARESS THE FACE YOU MISSED.

YOU LOOK INTO THE LOVING EYES OF YOUR PET AND KNOW THAT YOU NEVER REALLY PARTED.

YOU REALIZE THAT THOUGH OUT OF SIGHT, YOUR LOVE HAD BEEN REMEMBERED.

YOU CROSS THE RAINBOW BRIDGE TOGETHER!
